This document is intended to guide faculty members in preparing their students to participate in an ICONS simulation. The first section contains a brief introduction to ICONS and what is required to participate. The following sections contain a history of simulations used in the international relations classroom, a more detailed description of the structure of an ICONS simulation, and a discussion of various issues related to implementing ICONS in a class.
