Professional Training
The ICONS Project at the University of Maryland offers leadership development training programs that incorporate multi-player, real-time simulation exercises as a way for individuals, teams, and organizations to increase their effectiveness. Drawing on over 25 years of experience, ICONS has trained thousands of professionals -- from seasoned executives to emerging team leaders. (See client list.)
As part of the Center for International Development and Conflict Management, the ICONS Project utilizes its cadre of world-class trainers and simulation developers -- including practitioners, academics, and subject-matter experts -- to design and deliver engaging programs that consistently receive top-rated evaluations.
ICONS programs are built on an active learning model in which participants problem-solve within and across teams using a mix of group discussions, case studies, role plays, and a multi-player simulation. Our simulations are based on real-world issues that immediately draw in participants.
